Carlo Caparas was included in the new list of national artists. When I first heard it on the news, I literally choked on my coffee. My first reaction was: Why? Why him? Namatay na ba ang art diri sa Pilipinas that someone like Caparas should be chosen for such an honor? Our country is indeed such a funny place.
