Impressions

Dean Alfar, author of the Palanca award-winning novel, Salamanca, is just one heck of a cool guy. I e-mailed him last week to ask him where to get Salamanca as I am living in Cebu and there's no Powerbooks and Fully Booked stores here. I wasn't expecting a reply from him but he completely shattered my illusions about popular authors. He was so accomodating and I felt I was just sending an e-mail to an acquaintance. Sadly, Salamanca is out of print at the moment. I would have loved to read it before the holidays.
